Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ pound ground pork
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- ½ cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons Paul’s Nickel Bag Tuscan Spice
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes, 28 ounces
- Salt and black pepper
Method
- Combine the beef, pork, breadcrumbs, Parmigiano, egg, one teaspoon Tuscan Spice and parsley. Form into 12 meatballs.
- Brown the meatballs in olive oil in a wide pot. Transfer to a plate.
- Cook the onion until soft, add the garlic and remaining Tuscan Spice, then stir in the tomatoes. Season lightly.
- Return the meatballs to the sauce and simmer gently for 30 minutes. Serve with pasta, polenta or plenty of bread.
Save room for the second helping.
